Our Mission

In support of a university free from illegal discrimination, the Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance Office 

  • trains students and employees about their rights and responsibilities under federal and state civil rights and equal employment opportunity law and university policy 

  • consults with members of the university community seeking guidance on civil rights regulations and policies 

  • investigates complaints of illegal discrimination by employees and students  

  • responds to requests and complaints from state and federal civil rights agencies

Our Goals

  • To educate and train the university community about their rights and responsibilities under federal and state civil rights and equal opportunity law and university policy. 

  • To complete all civil rights and Title IX investigations in a timely and fair manner. 

  • To resolve informal concerns in a timely and fair manner.  

  • To support and monitor employment searches for compliance with civil rights law, regulations, and policy. 

  • To oversee and conduct university climate assessments. 

  • To respond to federal and state civil rights agencies, and implement compliance plans and resolution agreements. 

  • To consult with members of the university community as needed on civil right compliance and serve as content experts on civil rights law and policy for committees, task forces, and other university bodies.
